楚望台军械库

清末，清军在此建军械库，存有124门大炮、德、日以及汉阳造步枪5.9万支和大量弹药，成为全国乃至远东最大的军械库之一。

如今，楚王的台、亭均不存，清军的军械库亦毁，但梅亭山上那刻有“湖北省文物保护单位”的标志，却向人们提示着那段历史：1911年10月10日晚工程营发难后，起义士兵熊秉坤率部迅速占领楚望台军械库，获得大批武器弹药，并在此设临时指挥部，使之成为起义大军源源不断的武器供应地。

楚望台台身用青石砌筑，南北长7米，东西宽4.5米，台基基础露明高0.8米，周围铺以方石地面。
